POWERBIKES 2008 - SUN 29TH JUNE 2008

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give all a heads up about an event we are organising which should be well worth a ride out to on..

Sunday 29th June, from 10am - 4pm
at
Fiddlers Ferry Power Station
Widnes Road
Cuerdley
Warrington
WA5 2UT​

Basically it is being organised by a couple of biker mad firefighters of which I am one! The idea of the day is to have good day out and maybe also learn a thing or two. Oh yes it's FREE!!!!

The main beneficiaries of the day will be the North West Air Ambulance who as we all know have helped out many an unfortunate biker. They are raising funds to sponsor a second helicopter to cover the North Wales/ North west area.

The other organisation is EMTV who are a group of volunteer bikers that deliver essential blood supplies between hospitals.

BTW - if there a load of biker mad firefighters going to the event then you might find you get a good response if you post in the Heel on Wheels section

Powerbikes 2008.

Sounds a great event and a worthwhile one considering I live in the North West.

I will try and get a couple of fellow Fire Fighters to come over from Manchester including myself.

The only thing is that we are on Days on the Sunday; I will put in for the day off and see what happens.

Have you tried advertising the event in the Sports and Social sections of neighbouring Brigades? There are loads of Bike mad Fire Fighters around who may be interested.

If you like I will send the info to our Sports and Social section and get it publicised in Manchester.

I have it advertised on the Cheshire FRS website but I am very grateful to you for advertising in your brigade too... the more the merrier!
I am duty that day as well... lets just hope the hog roast doesn't set the place alight eh! I couldn't face the report writing!!

May just be able to make it if I check myself out of hospital after shortening my neck and becoming bionic ( thanx to local at TT07 ). Do ya think I can wear my helmet with a neckbrace.....? I was born beneath the eight towers of the Ferry and couldn't find a closer meet that I can't attend! Typical! Enjoy y'selves all!
