When people power up a tank bag what do you use as a distribution block/board in the bag itself??

I was thinking of powering up my 'shite Bag' Goucho for the Turky Trot next year.

Need to charge an Ipod & phone

MikeP has his tank bag fully powered for all sorts of gubbins - I thought he had done a write-up about it, but I can't find it :(

I thought I had seen a thread but it seems to be hidden somewhere I can't find.

Hope you are feeling better Clive:thumb2 May see you at the G&D.

This any good for you :nenau.

You'll be wanting to look here at Powerlet products, They are based in the states but with the exchange rate you should do ok price wise :D Shippings not extortionate either :thumb2

Was looking at a kit myself, for the dakar's tankbag. Not got around to it yet tho :blast

Or you could look here same stuff but uk based :thumb, scratch the last one, a kit from the states with one cigarete socket is just over £32 shipped, from the uk its £40.50 without the cigarete socket

tank bag power on the cheap

Hi converted a tank bag on a st1100 to be powered on the cheap. Bought a multi way cigarette charger thingy from Halfords with 4 # cig lighter sockets and rubber cover caps and aslo a USD port. Fixed the adaptor in to the side of the tank bag with self adeshive velcro and wired direct to a BMW style plug. this allowed items to be plugged in and charged in the tank bag and also a power cable ran from inside the bag to a PDA mounted in the map bag. cable from bike socket cable tired to various bits with velcro cable tires. only problem with this set up is getting the cable through the zip.

Hope this is of help

I did exactly that, for my Gibraltar run, but the 4 way sockets were backlit with a green light ( sounds a bit max power but it helped in the dark ) and it had an inline switch.

I velcro'd in some box type plastic dividers inside the bag ( I suppose various tupperware box's would do. This kept all my stuff seperated and tidy .
I powered my camera / Archos media player / gps / and mobile on the move . Worked a treat .

Like nipcurrent , the only problem was taking the wire out of my bag zip to the map pocket. Not a big deal though.

After I got back I bought a meter of cable management plastic tubing ( about 15mm dia ) to bunch the wires together inside the bag to keep it all tidy.

Much better.

On the whole it worked really well , all for less than a tenner.
