PR3s

ive had them on for about 1000 miles now and they are amazing, im getting more grip in the wet than i did in the dry with the tourance, very confidence inspiring, although ive had to drop the pressures down from 36/42 that i used for the tourance to 32/38 as they were very harsh and skitty with the higher presssures, in fact i would go as far as to say they are the best all round tyre ive had in 15 years of riding :bow

How did you find the Tourances in the rain on white road markings...

scary, a couple of slides with them, thats why i changed, now im no rossi but i do press on so i went up the same roads in similar conditions (wet) and probably faster with the pr3 and no dramas, honestly felt like i was riding in the dry

Compared to my Diversion on Conti Road Attacks, I find the the GSA on Bridgestones is amazingly well planted.

The RAs (similar sports biassed tyres to PR3s) transformed the Divi allowing me to use all of the tread. I regularly run out of ground clearance without even trying. The downside was poor tread life and a serious fall-off in grip when the rear squared-off.

The Divi 900 isnt the best handling bike but not bad and it's a similar weight to the GSA. The GSA on Battlewings however leaves it for dead in the handling stakes.

I'm not a Bridgestone fan being seriously under whelmed with 021s on the Divvie 900.

Why am I on about tyres the OP didnt mention? Because, the sporty types while being great with a good new profile can become really bad when they square-off. From what I can tell so far, the GS is likely to square the rear like my Divvie did so it may well be the same on sporty rubber. Good for a while then horrible.while the tyre still has legal tread.

Each to their own but IME, sporty rubber can be too single minded for touring biassed bikes.

Anybody tried Michelin PR3s on their GS ? I dont do "off piste" so a road biased tyre is my choice.

Bloody Hell mate, don't admit to that on here! or the GS Hierarchy will be along to beat you with a big stick for being a " fashion victim " :blagblah

On a more serious note PR3's are excellent! I dont have them but the old man does, superb...I still prefer the Roadsmarts though .. :beerjug:

My Diversion gets all twitchy on over-banding. Only freshly scrubbed sporty rubber sorted it.

The GS on worn Battlewings just rocks a bit but (so far) has never got out of shape. I lie, the front slipped on a traffic island in heavy rain but it was so non scary. The Divvie would have been in the nearest ditch.

But if they do the job better I'll be happy to use road rubber. Anyone got a pair of 17" wheels going begging?

The PR3 are Sports-touring tyres, which due to their dual compound (exceptionally good - in Michelin's case) - means that they will not square off any worse than Tourance-type tyres - in fact, they might even do better in that respect.
