My Dad's computer.....Windows Vista......Windows email.....

How do I turn off the predictive script, and empty the 'memory' in the 'send to' box of 'Create Mail' ?
It's not just a case of deleting contacts, I've tried that. It's becoming a bit of a pain and just confusing my Dad (:augie)

Cheers Gents.....:)

Yuck. I gather this is Outlook Express you are dealing with. A better piece of email kit that's free is ThunderBird from Mozilla (the Firefox people).

A good piece of kit I use for clean ups is CCleaner. Link is here;

It is pretty bomb proof, but be a little careful if you do a registry clean - make sure you backup the registry when prompted. It is usually faultless, but I would hate to see a string of expleetives on this site...

The general clean is nice and safe and it will take out pretty much all the cached and temp information.

I sometimes find I get this problem at work when I have contacts, as well as a address list. If you find there are multiple or unwanted email address in Outlook, highlight them using the cursor, and press the Delete key (from the keypad), they should also dissappear. Tested on Outlook 2003, but not tested on Express.

Worth a try... ;-)

In Tools/Options - on the Send tab - untick "Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing"

Yes, that also works on Vista Windows Mail - if they are shown in the first place by having "Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing" ticked
