Purchased one of these recently, used today for the second time. Rode around 160 miles in a mixture of heavy and torrential rain and started to feel water getting in after about 2.5 hours. After stopping at around 5 hours I found I was actually sitting in a puddle of water. I did'nt have the suit zipped to the very top in an attempt to have some ventilation but water must be getting in through the zip somewhere.

Has anyone had any experience with this suit before I speak to the dealer? Think I would have been happier to find I'd pissed myself rather then finding out the that the suit doesn't serve any purpose.

Thank you

I've got one of these and haven't had any problems with it leaking. I've just got back from a trip to Germany and I think I used the suit every day, including riding in the rain all the way from the Chunnel to Germany, and also in a number of torrential downpours. Mine gets a little clammy inside but that's about it. I can't think how having the suit not zipped fully up would let water puddle in the seat without your front getting soaked as well.

Hi Rus,

I must admit the suit did seem to have failed you, either through the zip or (just as likely) through a failed seam, or maybe through a flap over the zip that was somehow open.

I have always found BMW very good at returns. I would just take it back, explain the problem and ask for an exchange. Put simply, it should not leak. For sure the rain was heavy but not extraordinary. Al, who had a similar boil-in-the-bag suit stayed reasonably dry, I think.
