Pro ralley2 clothing

i have just got an immaculate second hand pro ralley2 suit for £100 (mates with money) lucky me, now i know the waterproof bit is on the inside but for the summer when i have the liner out is there anything i can spray on the outside to give it a bit of water protection.

No, not really - the Nikwax stuff that you should be useing anyway will make it light shower proof at best but not a lot more than that.

I bung a Gortex DPM over jacket (army surplus, £30-40ish) in the bum pocket of my jacket. Great if you get caught short without a liner or in winter is a great extra layer to keep the jacket dry and you a lot warmer. If you want to go posh, Klim do a really nice (but expensive) Gortex over jacket which is even less bulky than a DPM one.

Don't expect the 'supposedly waterproof' R2 Goretex liners to be in anyway waterproof either

Johnny is being very negative.

Your gortex liners should be fine.

Food for thought though is that if you're out all day in the rain, the outer part of the suit will slowly hold more and more water getting heavier and heavier and also making you feel colder.

It's for that reason that some peepes carry a lightweight shell and chuck it over the top, even though the whole suit is waterproof ..

Still a very good suit though ... don't be put off ...
