problem with tom tom rider 2

anyone come across this befor?
just bought tomtom 2 of guy ebay,loaded up o.k other day (had it couple days)
now when switch on all i get is black screen with writting on and a date 0f 2008 comes on screen,would this be when item was made? , simular to when /booting your p.c) already left feedback,
any ideas,thanks

P.S have reciept dated couple mths from shop 2009 ,but it down london,

There is a reset on the V1 maybe worth a look.

can you post a pic of your memory card.

There is a small test application used at head office for diagnostics that would display something like that.

Or it could be that the previous owner installed some third party software that is trying to boot up?

A quick look at the contents of your card will let us know more.

Go to My Computer, find the TomTom and double click, you should see loads of folders and files. Try and adjust the icon size so you can see them all on one page, hit the "Prnt Scrn" button on the top right of your keyboard, go to Paint (found in Start - Accessories) and go to Edit and Paste and your screen dump should be on the screen. Save the file and upload it to somewhere www.tinypic.com so you can share the link with us for us to see.

Can you take a photo of what you see on the TomTom screen?
