Went to fit my Migsel light bar to 1150GS and the bolt on the left, facing the bike, is not long enough. It is just about long enough without the bar on.
Questions are :

1) Do I need a longer bolt?
2) Has the hole for the bolt to go into somehow moved up?
3) Any other 'related' advice?

Cheers

You need longer bolts. I think those that I bought were 10mm longer then the OEM bolts that I removed when I fitted the light bar. Its not a lot, but its all thats needed

Mort ...
Bought mine used.
What length are your bolts?

Sorry mate my bike is at a mates place so I don't have easy access, but you should only need about 5mm extra in legnth, the same thickness as the light bar.

You will need longer bolts. I bought mine of Migsel at a Belgian GS rally and the longer bolts came with it. Mind you, I needed even longer bolts when I fitted an aeroflow screen :) 5 or 10mm above standard will do fine.

if the bar is new from migsel you should have got new longer bolts, dont tighten any off the two bolts till you have them located and started on the threads then tighten,if you didn,t get the longer bolts thats your problem cheers:eek:onyack

The bolts you need are M6x45 (45 mm long)

And if you're stuck, you can buy them on-line from Stagonset. See HERE. :thumb2

It's a really useful site if like me you're starting to annoy your mechanical mates, with your constant scrounging for bolts etc. :augie

Used them about 4 times and it's always been hassle free.
