Problems with Eurotunnel this weekend

Off to France in the morning.

P and O Ferries but expect some delays from Eurotunnel customers trying for a Ferry.

Bloody French. How come they can afford to strike during these times of austerity.

Many on UKGSer applaud the French habit of taking direct action...... until it interferes with their holidays ;)

The Chunnel suspended new bookings earlier in the week. I thought something was up when ALL the trains shown were full.

I came back on Tues 30th pm - spent an hour queueing at Calais to get on a train.

Strangely, they put five bikes in the first carriage, with two cars. Four of the bikes were BMWs - an R90CS, 1200GSA, F650 twin (me), and an R1200RT. With a Yamaha. What does this say about the discerning tourer's choice?

T'was my first trip on the trains, and I was mightily impressed - apart from the delay, of course. I'll go that way again!

I am told that......

French Motorcyclist Protest in France on the 10th Sept ......this is rumoured that it will bring the whole place to a standstill so progress away from Calais on that day will be slow .....

We where in The Loire and had to return home for a family emergency we booked on line on Monday evening and got on the 10.50am departure on Tuesday 30th Aug. We where put in the first carriage with three cars and one other bike, unlike our journey out when we and about 12 other bikes where held at the train as all the cars boarded and where put on last. Fantastic service for £28. (one way).
