Well, the clean-up & rebuild continues....
- Frame and various bits back from powdercoat (more about those later....)
- Engine, gearbox & carbs rebuilt & back from Steve Scriminger (top job!)
- Wheels rebuilt, with new rims and stainless spokes
- New tyres
- Boxes and boxes of new and 2nd hand bits from MW, mostly replacing badly corroded nuts, bolts, brackets and other fixings which were beyond salvagable care
- New loom

The rebuild is underway, but I've hit a snag I really should have predicted....(muppet :o ) The handlebars have been powdercoated and now the left and right hand assemblies for clutch and throttle/brake don't fit onto the ends of the bars and the two halves of the handlebar clamp don't fit around the centre. Any tips and tricks anyone? Take bars to be re-stripped and paint instead of coat? Brute force? (although mild force hasn't worked so far :augie )

Any advice (plus usual p*sstaking :D ) welcome!

Small artists brush, a cloth, knife and some nitomors. Just paint the nitromors on carefully with the artists brush leave it a for 30 seconds or so and then carefully lift the coating with a knife or other sharp object (if your allowed to have them :D ).

You soon get very good with it once you get the hang of leaving it the right amount of time :thumb2

Alternativly

A new set of bars is £46 including the VAT at Motorworks.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures

Cheers chaps..... :thumb2

I'll have a go with the nitromors first, I have some and all the required kit (plus a grown-up to help me.... :D )

Ho hum, back to the garage....

I would also just go for new bars. Bought my self some 2 weeks ago and their great. ATV high bars, slightly wider than the original and a lot stronger.
