The last couple on months I have been in the man cave slowly changing my 2008 r1200gs into a "kind of tribute bike" to the recent HP2 Megamoto.
I had a HP2 MM way back in 2009 and regret selling it now the prices have gone up..doh.
Anyway I did put over 11k miles on it around Europe and the UK, but it wasn't really a touring bike.
Hence this...
A lot of work, especially finding all the bits etc, then the powder coating and finally changing the colour of the GS to Alpine white, but worth it I think.1000002130.jpg

Hey mate, that looks amazing. I'm planning to do the same with my BMW R 1200 GS 2011. Do you have any tips and tricks for me? I'm especially still looking at how I'm going to solve the front mud guard. Did you modify the existing one? Any manuals that I can find online for that?

Currently, I'm following the tutorial that I found online:

I'm planning to use the R1200R rims for an easy bolt-on solution. I don't plan to have any issues with clearance, but any tips you might have, I'm happy to hear.

Did you use the standard handlebars, or did you change out the handlebar to something else? I saw people changing it out for the R1200R handlebar?

.

Quite a few conversion I’ve seen use the oe mud guard and use spacers to sit the guard closer to the wheel, I can’t remember where I got my mud guard from, I fitted carbon bst wheels.

Well, thanks for all the "likes", but the big announcement is that this little GS could soon be for sale.
If you are interested, DM me for the full spec and list of changes...
Not sure of a price just yet, make an offer maybe.??
Cheers
