I had a front puncture on GSPD yesterday. Was using tubeless TKC80's and had done a bit of mild off roading, tyre pressure was 25 psi when I set off, didn't really hit any rocks etc, no sign of a nail or anything, it just went down slowly at first then the bead broke on one side and I was knackered.

Managed to ride back to a mates place and got RAC'd home.

Still no idea what caused the flat, but if I had been seriously out in the wild I would have been knackered as it takes a good blast of air to push the tyre back gainst the rim.

Seems that to fit a tube as an emergency would be one option, but tyre fitters suggest that the rim could wear through tube.

Tyre had ultraseal in it but apparantly this will not seal between tyre and rim and in fact could actually cause a flat if rim or tyre wall was contaminated when fitting as it contains fibres which deteriorate.

Any thoughts?

So what then? Kennys been quiet for a while perhaps he stole the air.

Simon (Sorebums) runs his with tubes in.
NEVER has any problems:
