I don't claim this as my idea as I have seen it done elsewhere. Nonetheless I thought you would like to see it on the 'best' colour S10 :D

The box is a Peli 1120, it has been bolted directly onto the number plate mount, and the number plate then bolted to its lid. I have taken the puncture repair kit from under the saddle where it was a very tight fit with the seat levelling mod that I have carried out, and it fits in the Peli a treat. I will purchase a small combo padlock later.

My tool kit and visor cleaning kit are now safely under the seat in the tray.

It all looks fairly strong, but I'm not sure it would stand up to heavy off-roading without some bracing. Most of my travelling is on the road, so I'm happy with the way it sits.

Looking at that it would appear that your number plate will no longer be illuminated as you have moved the plate forward of the lense, therefore a potential for being pulled at night and also an MOT failure come the time.

Fair comment.

It comes off in a couple of minutes for an mot.
The lights works ok and it's a reflective plate, so it's not likely to be noticed. I would be more worried about speeders and no insurance and bald tyres etc. TBH.

Was your seat mod the one where you replace the rear four rubber bungs with the ones for the pillion seat?

And where did you get the little number plate box, I like the look of that :thumb

I ordered the Peli 1120 from Waterproof-Cases.co.uk in Womborne and it arrived within a couple of days.

I ordered 5 of the shorter seat rubbers and place them in the back 4 holes. The last one was used on the back seat 'tongue' so that the seat didn't move about.

Cheers, got some on (back) order, I reckon you must have had the last set in the western world

I'm not sure about the legalities, so I have remounted it under the right hand pannier.

I just wash the bugs off with muc-off after each long ride. Winter is kept at bay with a dose of ACF-50.

I have a few issues with oxidised bolts / fittings so reluctant to use the muc-odd again :nenau
