When you stick a music cd (tried older ones aswell as new ones) into the puter all seems to work (rip) ok to start with but then goes tits up! :( It brings up the picture on the cd case and lists the songs ok and starts to rip the first song, gets to 10% then all the songs turn to "error" and then spits the cd out! Any ideas? :bow

The CD/DVD writer in my 6 year old desktop packed up. Well, the IDE port on the mobo packed up. So, as I also have a netbook which does not have a CD/DVD drive I invested about £25 in a CD/DVD writer that plugs into a USB port. All hunky dory now.

This is the one I bought. Runs off the USB cable, no external power needed so great for laptops. Supplied USB cable is a bit short.
