pyrenees june 07

Plymouth Santander for me and my buddies in June. Going to be busy down there this year I reckon.

I'll be the one overtaking you on the blue & orange KTM :D

He may be overtaking YOU, but he will definatley be behind me on my K12R!!!

A handful of us did the Pyrenees last June and was fantastic. We rode down through France to Calpe in Spain, stayed there a week, and then rode back through Andorra. Breathtaking scenery. This year im going down again, but im looking at the ferry to Bilbao. I did get an online quote and it was in the region of £500:eek:
Ref The 1100s, my brother did the whole trip on his R1100ss Boxer cup rep and he loves it too:thumb

Six of us are going early September. Plymouth to Santander, then exploring the Picos area, zig zag along the Pyranees, then head NW and follow the west coast up through France to Brittany, few days with friends there then Caan or St Malo to Portsmouth and home to sunny Surrey. All in 8 days. Cant wait! :bounce1
Anybody else been Sep time??

I know exactly how you feel, i have trips that im just wishing the days/months away:D Roll on...........................

just booked the crossing but one way portsmouth to bilbao with clubclass cabin 255 quid dont think thats bad at all:beerjug:

I have used both crossings and have found them to both be excellent. Putting aside the issues of price, and sailing dates there is one big difference which might influence your choice. The Brittany Ferries boat makes the faster passage, and hence in a bit of a sea the passage can be more uncomfortable than the Pride of Bilbao which has less time pressure, especially outbound, and is prepared to use it's stabilisers more readily. If the wife is a poor sailor it might make the difference between here enjoying the passage and agreeing to do it again, or refusing point blank to consider it in future.
Remember the Bay of Biscay is one of the roughest bits of water around here and a long passage into a quarter sea can do all sorts of weird things to the sense of balance etc etc.
