Have just installed Mapsource onto newish P.C. operating Windows 7, when I plug in my Quest 1 via USB & try to download route I am unable to find device, are there any known issues along these lines or have I missed something, do I have to install the Quest in some way? All operate OK on my laptop (XP) which has carried the system since original install from quite a few years back.

Thanks for the reply, I had spotted this on a search but it seemed a little inconclusive & just wondered if there was a definitive answer if there is such a thing with a confuser.

Sorry, there were a few PMs between myself and the guy who'd had the same problem with Windows7 which obviously aren't in the thread..............

Essentially, the cure for me was to uninstall the Garmin drivers (which according to various searches I did seem to have a known conflict with Windows7 and contrary to what Garmin say about compatability).

Windows7's own drivers then take over and all seems to work tickety boo (so far!).

Cheers will give it a try, here comes another evening of frustration, had similar with my Epson printer & have to fudge around it to print on discs, I like Windows 7 but it does appear to throw up quite a few incompatability issues with existing kit.

Cracked it, went into printers & devices right clicked then sent through troubleshoot a couple of times & it sorted its self, why twice will remain a mystery.
