Quest - do I get rid of the old software?

Got a garmin quest with V9 currently installed.
I've also still got V8 installed on my PC - do I get rid of V8?
Just worried in case it had any effect on V9

You should be able to remove the v8 mapping using 'Add/Remove' in your Windoze Control panel without effecting v9 or Mapsource. If you're only left with v9 on the machine then the drop down list to select mapping will no longer be there in Mapsource.

You don't have to remove it. All you have to do is select v9 from the drop-down menu (top left) and v9 will always be used unless you select different. I have an older SPIII as well as a 2820 and use more than one version of MapSource.
I don't think it takes up much space, so unless you're really up against it with your storage capacity I'd just leave it on.
