I was making a route, last night and when I downloaded it, it seemed to take a while - It's only about 20 way-points.

When I try to navigate the route it says something like "insufficient map information" and gives the option to recalculate the route.

I must've changed something on the Quest itself as this hasn't happened before?

How do I set the Quest mapping back to "nomal" - I've only had it since Chrimbo and having read the manuals am still no clearer about what I need to do...

:nenau

Did you download a map as well as the route??

I suspect you did...and when you do that, the map you download becomes the only one in the unit because it over-writes the existing ones....you'll need to d/load all the maps you want again and it should be ok (the quest is now trying to route you on a map it hasn't got)

Hope that makes sense,,it's early :)

Oh dear.....I may well have overwritten the original mapping that the unit came with then?

The route I was planning was just a Uk route....

No, the original mapping it came with would have been the base map.....you can't do anything to that as it's held in different memory....all you've done is to overwrite a complete map set with a single map.......

Go back to Mapsource, open select the 'map selection' tool and highlight all the maps you want to upload....then just upload them.

Then in the future when you upload a route, just make sure you only tick the 'route' box, NOT the MAP box.

You haven't damaged anything, just caused yourself some extra work is all.

All sorted now....I think... :beerjug:

.........er.....in my (Quest) "Map Info" I have Euro City select v6 as a family but with only 2 detailed maps in.
I haven't whittingly downloaded anything into this other than doing the standard set-up for the Quest and mapsource.
Should there "normally" be anything here?

Yeah...I'm thick....

Finally got ma heed round it.

Thanks again :thumb

Chris...now you've got that sorted, go get the speed camera overlay and then load it up into your quest...you'll need to select all the maps you want as normal, and then add the speed cam overlay AS WELL at the same time....

The quest won't warn you of the cameras, but it will show them as icons on thescreen which is better than nothing.

;)
