Quest post code??

Is there a function to just use a post code when finding an address on a Quest? Mine seems to insist that i use the number and street name.... Whereas, my Streetpilot just uses the post code..

Quest 1 only had partial UK post code assisatnce in helping it find the correct street. Quest 2 has full Uk post code search.

What "Streetpilot" do you have SP3, 2610, 2620, 2710, 2820 etc etc?

I haven't found a way of using a post code search on the Quest(I assume I have a 1?) it has V6 maps.
I have the C320 streetpilot...with V8 maps I think.
Will I be able to load the V8 maps on to the Quest? is there any point in doing this?

Quest will not do postcodes, no matter what you do or how hard you try

The software doesn't work the same as StreetPilots

It does AFAIK, but that will be with the NT City Nav mapping. I would assume that Garmin will stop you putting the functionality of the the Quest 2 into a Quest 1 simply by swapping over the mapping.

If the v8 maps have 2 unlock codes facility then I think that they would be able to be used by the Quest. Did the C320 come with v8 discs?

The Garmin has one V8.02 disc... I am not sure how I get the unlock code for the Garmin?? Any ideas?

As above...

Quest 1 doesnt do postcode searches, it will give you a partial postcode to help you confirm the address is correct

Quest 2 apparently does do postcode searches though I've never used one to confirm.

Loading maps onto a Quest, yes it can be done, you need to licence you device to use the maps though.
Is it worth it? That depends, the quest 1 has limited non-upgradable memory, I found that is became a pita having to upload new maps to mine as it was able to hold less and less of the newer maps. I started being able to load all of the UK, by V8 I was only able to load south of Birmingham

Phone Garmin - but you'll probably have to pay for the unlock code...

The M6 toll strated to exist around v8, might be worthwhile checking so that if you're in the area, Betty won't get breathless and very confused!

Garmin won't provide unlock codes for anything other than current mapping, you won't be able to get an unlock for v8 from them.

Original Quest will not run NT mapping that has the postcode data, Quest 2 will but rumour has it that it's so slow to update the screen it's practically unusable.
