Am now a Quest owner and have a number of questions that don't seem clear in the manual.

1. If all of England and Ireland are pre loaded, is there any point in playing with mapsource unless I am going to Europe?

2. There is a reference to losing pre loaded poi info when uploading mapsource maps to the unit. They then have to be downloaded from the garmin site to reinstate. so

Is it much easier to plan a route using mapsource?

Are the POI's worth having installed?

3. Entering a route in the unit itself seems a little tedious; surely entering postcodes would be easier. Is it possible to do this?

4. Satellite aquisition seems relatively poor with 'lost reception' appearing from time to time, including in Central Bristol. I notice that the manual states that it may be difficult for the unit to receive a signal between high buildings.

Anyone comment on this, as it seems that just when you really need a GPS it may not work!!

Do all Quests have Garmin, Garmin Taiwan and some waypoint in St James Park set from the outset?

Finally, now that there are a few about what is the general feeling on mounting to a 1200GS?

TIA

Tim
