Have managed somehow to inflict lots of tiny scratches to the screen of my Quest.

Tried phoning Garmin but found myself in a very long queue.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how easy/costly is it to obtain/fit a replacement screen?

Cheers
Steve

If you are lucky they will replace it FOC, if not you'll get hit for their standard repair charge for a Quest which can be found somewhere in these very pages. Of course getting a proper GPS in the first place may have saved you this pain :upyou

I might've known the "proper" bit would crop up from you Judge. How is the old "wide screen" monstrosity these days??.......... Yeah, I know.......... not scratched!!

I'll try a search on 'ere then.

Ta v much

I take it you are assuming the mantle of "Garmin Chief Tester to Destruction, Units, GPS, for the use of.." now then Steve? First petrol, now scratches...you should be more careful you know.
Of course, if you feel you cannot look after it properly, I am more than happy to take it off your hands :D :D

Test to destruction as in clutches perhaps?????? :koi
I'd be more than happy to hand it over to you if I thought you had a bike that was going to travel more than a couple of thousand miles before something else major goes wrong!!

How is the clutch ? :D

T CUT & a soft cloth rubbing in a circular motion will remove all scratches. Works on my screen, visor & speedo.

I too have noticed a lot of very small scratches on my quest screen, ( i've had it all of five minutes) which tend to distort the small writing.

I have no idea how they happened as I always use a case. I had a SPIII for a couple of years before the quest and never managed to scratch the screen on that.

My aerial has gone really loose too, I'm hoping if I send it in for that, then I may just get a new one back?? (fingers crossed)

Pete!!! Lovely to hear from you!!:D
Ta for that, does that mean you now own a GPS??
I'll give it a go, it cant make it any worse than it already is.

I'd imagine (but am not entirely certain) if you used that approach on the 2610 touch screen you hope to purchase this coming Winter you will get to know all about Garmin's after sales technical support intimately :yikes

Applied a tiny drop of T Cut as suggested by the Uncle and it's as good as new, top tip Pete, ta mate.

Doesn't appear to be any different to the first time I used it.
