Or, why don't you all ask somone to show you? :mmmm

No need to ask, he knows I'm available at very competitive rates :D

It’s a case of “each to there own” really and you both seem to have valid reasons not to use the units you bought cheap, you’d both rather use paper maps and your finely honed navigational skills :clap

What I do find strange is the way you both seem to be proud of the fact that you haven’t learnt how to use what you bought. Or have any interest in learning how to use them; if you did then you would’ve loaded the software. It’s like a strange kind of inverse bragging. If you don’t use them then get rid, why make a point of posting a thread saying you don’t know how to use them? Very odd :nenau

I think you both fell into the trap my wife does, she buys something cheap in the sales that she doesn’t need, when I ask why her reply is “but look at the money I saved” :D

Why don’t you stick them on e-bay and make a bit of cash out of them? :thumb

Sorry Kev,

But it's because Tarka and me haven't a fecking clue about the gobbledegook.

It's a bit baffling to say the least and i'm fecking scared of a major balls-up, resulting in a fair ribbing on here from the GPS guru's to put the basics right again

I suppose we'd be a bit more clued up if we RTFM...............but I know if I was shown what to do, it would be a whole lot easier and make more sense, so it sinks in

How about showing us the ropes............. :thumb

Another thing is the mounting on the bike................

The last thing I wanted is a cluttered cockpit on the GS, it would piss me right off and be too distracting

So another conundrum is which place to mount it?
a) Handlebars
b) Crossbar
c) Clocks

It seems I'm favouring an 'above the clocks' position, which seems more logical, in a head's up way, so a Migsel mount and Ram/Cradle seems best to me.

The Ram Mount on the bars seems to be my least favourite having tried a bike with this set up on Sat, the U bolt spoils it and the positioning seems to be in the way, for my taste

Then power sources................more conumdrums and whether to mount an Autocom...helmet speakers/wires.....arggh........... more shit :spitfire

Trussed like an Xmas turkey, where did simplicity go to, in biking and GS'ing in particular :spitfire

That's all Kev................ :thumb

Or I could sell it all for a profit and put the money to upgrading my Trials bike.........a nice Honda 4RT seems so appealing - no lights, no fancy clobber.........just an open face helmet and trials boots, no gloves etc ...............

Freedom to ride some natural hazards...........man and machine v's the terrain........ :clap :clap

I've got one of these: http://www.adventure-motorcycling.co.uk/products/?product=294

Take the Ram arm off and there's not too much to see, if the wires are tucked into the beak. Not cheap though
