There seems to be a minor road/track running from the Carfraemill Hotel (A68) up over Crib Law and joining up at Longyester

Has anyone ridden over it before....is it passable (on road tyres) and so on? Are you allowed to ride on it?

Hi Paul, the tracks easier to ride from the caefraemill side.About halfway you go through a gate and the tracks a little tricky after that ruts then a grassy rocky decent you should be fine on road tyres if your careful :thumb2
Just remember its in the middle of no-where if you fall off, there's notices on the gate posts giving the mountain rescue number

As far as i know its legal :thumb2

I did it a few weeks back with Forry, track its very rutted after the summer rain, washed away alot of soil exposing alot rocks, I did it on Anakees , with no problems :thumb2

Have you got the tkc's on yet ?

Been thinking about doing this for a while, I've mountain biked it loads of times and met a few folk on motorbikes who have never had hassle from the landowners. There is a road sign at either end stating its unsuitable for motors which indicates pretty clearly its still a public road.

Long is we all take it canny it should not give anyone cause to spoil our fun!

yeah I might be up for trying it on the GS if others were around, especially if I end up under the bike :o

I've got crash bars fitted now and the tyres aren't (currently) as bad as the ones in spring when we tried it last (although my rear shock is set on hard and knackered so I can't change it ... until I buy a new one :(). So I may be up for this too. :D

As long as it isn't too wet/greasy. :o

(Saving up for a dirt bike now. Plan being to try many of these routes on that first and then introduce the lumbering great GS when confidence is better.)
