Looking to change out the brake lines on my 1150 as it's on the original lines by the look of it and it's a '00 bike. Time to replace them I think.

The cross pipe on the front brakes seems to have the lines sealed into a block at the cross pipe, just wondering if I need a different cross pipe or if a replacement kit will use the current pipe. If it uses the current pipe, how do the new lines attach as they don't seem to bolt on the way usual lines do.

Hi Jus,
It all depends upon what spec, and who you goto.
Most kits will offer a new block, which will have 3 new braided steel lines going into it. Or yoiu can spec 2 full length lines upto the splitter on the headstock, or the master cylinder if you have no ABS.

Thanks, had done a search and found links to various companies selling lines. Saw mention of the number of lines but nothing specifically stating that it replaces the cross pipe.

Guess that makes sense to replace the cross piece and just have 3 lines.

Thanks,

J.
