I've noticed some Garmin Quest's for sale on t'ebay. They're coming from Hong Kong etc. and seem to be set up for the US. but with bidding around £60-£70 I was wondering if they could be easily reprogrammed for the UK/Europe?

Has anybody got any experience or thoughts on this?

Cheers :thumb

You can get UK spec ones for £199 at PC world - nbot many left mind. I got one today from Harrogate - last one there! :clap

If they're not a scam and set up for the US then they'll only have 115mb instead of 256mb (243mb useable) that UK ones have. Plus your basemap will be US and not Europe.

Total scam. Reported to eBay many times but they seem powerless or unwilling to stop these 1 day auctions that use cheque / money order only payments.

Bottom line on fleabay - only pay with PayPal unless you are using a recognised and trustworthy merchant's own credit-card based payment system.

If they say cheque / money order / Western Union then run like hell. It is most likely a scam.

As Mike says its a scam

Best way to check is to look at their feedback. They set up loads of ebay accounts and then buy really low cost items off themselves and leave loads of duplicate +ve feedback.

Ebay do regularly remove tham fro the site but they just pop up again a few days later.
