Is there any quick action throttle assemblys avaliable anywhere?:nenau

Or has anyone got any ideas how to lessen the travel on my 1200gs,having bought a second bike im really noticeing the long throttle on the GS and it is really getting on my tits.:nono

Throttle

have a look in any motor cycles accessories catalouge M & P's etc, they are for compition bikes so don't look too good but do work.

If you do manage to get a shorter throw throttle post it on here. Having to take two hand-fulls when going for it is a bit of a bind (o'er missus) on the other hand it works wonders for fuel economy the rest of the time. :D

Seconded :thumb2

My only gripe with the GS, spoils what is otherwise an excellent bike, I'd pay good money for a well executed mod.

I'm not sure a 'quick action' throttle would do the job, I would want a 'normal' action throttle rather than the on/of swithch that a lot of quick action throttles are.

I wonder if a throttle assembly from one of the other 1200 series bikes would do the trick? (I know the S has a 'cam' setup, preventing the rider taking too big a handful so I'm guessing that would be no good :nenau )

I did hear :rob that some bits from the throttle bodies on the 1200s might fit, some kind of cam what the throttle cable fits in and gives shorter travel than the gs.

Anyone know anymore.:nenau

I find when riding in a "spirited" manner :augie , its easy to unintentionally not have the throttle fully closed when "grabbing a handfull" of front brake, again, simply because its to far to shut off the throttle & use the brake at the same time. Not good for rapid deceleration!
