I'm closing a motor of a 1100GS, and in the shop manual there are instances where the tightening torque of bolts is specified in NM and than some angle is mentionedlike: 40nm and 32 degrees.

Does any one know what do they mean? Is it the simple torque to spec and than tighten with so and so degrees of handle movement?

TIA for a prompt and knowledgeable response, Miky

That's exactly it. Tighten to the torque figure, then tighten some more so that the bolt has rotated a further x degrees according to the recommended figure.

Thanks all
The motor is closed.

Did a lot of motors over the years, it's the first time I encounter this method.
