I have had a look at the Quest on line. Can you drop a few good and not so good points to me?
Does it have full coverage of maps for europe?
Er yes and no......
You do get all the maps, but they won't all fit on atthe same time.
That said, there's a lot of space.....certainly enough to cover a two week tour in Europe without reloading......
Do a search on 'quest memory europe' etc and there have been several threads where maps of a long tour have been posted and discussed re the quest
I love my quest 'cos it's portable and pocketable..10 hours battery life (more with the back-light off) and small enough to stick in a jeans pocket..no more risking a barely locked unit on a mount or lugging a big bag about.
If you're myopic you might find the screen small, but set it up right and it's fine..I use mine without sound all the time on the bike and it's no problem.
It hasn't got the fancy bells and whistles like an MP3 player or anything, but I seriously doubt the use of that anyway..and on a bike the traffic alerts aren't as important...
I would like the gatso proximity alert of other units...I think you get those on a quest 2 but not on my version 1 unit.....that's very handy for the car but I've got a snooper gps system so not a major prob on the bike where it's mounted
If I had a grand spare, and was going to buy another unit, right now I'd get another quest rather than the 26xx or 28xx series...the others do have some nice features but nothing that warrants the price hike from Q1 levels to those of the 28xx series etc.
The price difference will pay for a week away abroad...and that's a big difference
