Am looking for a quiet, traffic free area for a mate to play around on a 125 to get some confidence without any pressure from anyone.

Preferably not far from West London, but doesn't really matter as got car & trailer. Ideally a field / old airfield / tennis court size area...

Industrial estate? Forest tracks in mid wales?

Any ideas anyone?

nah - how about a large car park on the weekends / evenings?

When my OH learned to ride in '96, the school promised him the loan of one of their 125's for the duration of the course, so he could practice. In the end, due to maintenance issues, they renegued on the deal and no loaner materialised. John was sure, without extra practice in the evenings, he would fail the test ... so I took him down to Sainsbury's car park and let him bimble about on my 600 Diversion.

No one really needs practice going fast in a straight line to pass their test. If you can find a big supermarket car park that you can get into after hours, they are all marked out with proper lanes, give way signs and, sometimes, mini roundabouts - perfect for practicing your lifesavers and all those tricky low-speed manoeuvres. :thumb
