As I was doing a compression test on the Austin 7 today ,I thought I might as well do the same on the RT. The battery was a bit low so I dont think I got a proper reading but what should the readings be?
Also , is this the proper procedure.
Both plugs out, ( fitted into caps ant resting on the barrels)
Gauge screwed into one side and engine turned over on the starter for several revolutions with the throttle held open
reading taken.

Hi Tony, when I tested the compression on my 80/7 at the Wee-kended before last I recorded readings of 150lbs plus from each cylinder, and if I remember rightly Rob said that was good :D.

Thanks for that Geoff, I did have a look in haines and they give 109 to 131 as normal, and over 131 as good. Mine are 127 but I must admit I was a bit surprised as the Austin 7 with its 6.5/1 compression gives 130.
Dont know really. at least they are both the same and she does go very well.:nenau
