Hey hey, so I'll be back on the Airhead scene soon. Taking delivery of an accident damaged R100Gs next week.
There is a telefix forkbrace on auction here (currently in NZ), but as I dont have my bike yet I dont know if it wil fit. Can someone help me with measurements to see if it will fit?

Brace on auction has the following measurements, fork hole diameter (d) is 52mm and center to center distance (a) is 193-196mm adjustable.

Will this fit the R100GS? (1989 model if it makes a difference)

Thanks,

No one that can help me out with measurements? I'm only getting my bike next week and the brace auction ends tomorrow...

Just measured my forks - 95 GS - and the dia round the mounting point is 57 or 58mm... the gaiter gets in the way a bit.
The distance (a) is correct.

You won't benefit anything fitting this type of brace. They are designed for bikes that don't already have mounting points.

R100GS comes fitted with it's own brace. you don't need anything like the Telefix. The OE one will do a much better job.

The Telefix clamps to the round part of the fork leg. If tight it will prevent some flexing, but will never be as good as the OE which is bolted directly to four mountings on the fork legs. These hold the fork legs in line with the front axel, preventing the forks from twisting independently against each other. Which in turn prevents the wheel from being involuntarily twisted at the axel, therefore causing weave and disc rubbing common on poorly or unclamped forks.
