1. Please have a look at the attached link and the right angled exhaust brackets 25 and 27. On my bike the left hand bracket looks fine but the right hand bracket appears to be a left hand one turned about face. This means that the brackets aren't in line and a PO has fitted a 30mm spacer to make up the difference. Can someone confirm this is what I have, and if so I'll get a proper right hand bracket.

2. I went to Halfords today to get some fuel pipe and didn't appreciate just how many internal diameters there are. What is the correct size for my bike? I found one marking on the existing pipes - 8-7.8mm. Is that the correct size?

(Later) My brackets look identical to this ie two left handers and out of alignment.

If I'm understanding you correctly, the right hand bracket is correctly positioned. There is usually a rubber bushing making up the gap between the exhaust & the subframe. DONT try to remove the bracket & turn it around. I did before I realised the positioning was stock, & the bolts had rusted in place & sheared.

Had the vsame problem Paul ,I bought a brand new rubber mount and it was burst after one ride ,made a metal spacer
.The front bracket goes inside the frame the back one with the rubber mount goes outside.I think

Ah, right, thanks. The bolts has sheared anyway and I've drilled and tapped new holes. So the 30mm stainless steel spacer is fine, good.

And the bore of the fuel pipe?

30 mm seems excessive have you got the front bracket behind the subframe. My spacer is 20 mm ish

Is not a good idea to replace the rubber bushing with metal spacer.
If the rubber bushing is compressed (not stretched), should last a long time. Use washers to get a tight fit rubber bushing.
With a rigid clamping, the inside of the silencer can be destroyed in a short time.

Thanks a lot everyone. No my front bracket was outside the subframe and the spacer is indeed 30mm. I shall mount it the correct way now and with a rubber bush although as the front bracket is rigidly bolted to the subframe, I can't see the rubber bush doing a lot of good.

7mm bore, thanks.
