One for the gurus...

I am struggling to understand the difference between the R100S and the R100CS.

I have the old R100S brochure but not the CS.

O wise ones, please enlighten me :D

S/CS

Essentially the same bike except that they were produced either side of 1981? The later model incorporates all the updates introduced in that year - most obvious visual change is forks with Brembo rather than ATE brakes. I think there's extra bracing on the frame too. Internally it was Nikasil rather than cast cylinder liners, Hall effect electronic ignition v points, different clutch & transmission mods. Bound to be more

Not a guru, so somebody who knows for sure will be along shortly...

Thanks everyone - so it seems fairly clear that the CS was effectively just an update of the older S.

I'd love either...!

I had a 1981 R100CS with firstly a RS fairing then later swapped to a RT Fairing, I thought the CS had a the lower ratio Final Drive, it was worth 500 rpm lower at 70mph I believe
