hi all,
please can someone help me out?

I've been given a re-build project, as this is my 1st bma re-build, and I can't find any info on torque settings.

i'm looking for the torque settings for refitting the cam assy, cylinder and timing sprocket. I thin they are the main ones I need.

Thanks for your help.

There must be someone out there who knows these torque settings? I'd also like to know the Cyl head torque too?

Thanks

Markus I have a PDF file of all the info but I can't post it here (it gets all garbled) and I can't send you a message with it because you're not a subscriber???

Cylinder head Tightening sequence:

1 ...... Tighten cylinder head nuts (oiled iled) in di-agonally opposite sequence
1.......1 Tighten al all nuts to clossing torque Nm 20
1.......2 Tighten all nuts an additional ° 90
1.......3 Tighten all nuts an additional ° 90

2 ...... M 10 screw Nm 40
3....... M 6 screw Nm 9

I'll do some more later

Cheers,
is the 20Nm correct for cyl head nuts? it seems low?

Is the M10 the timing sprocket screw? It is a grade 10.9 so I thought it would be higher and would you reccommend a thread lock on this screw?

Mark

Markus

point 1 is all about torquing the head i.e.

20nm then plus 90 degrees then plus 90 degrees

Yes M10 is 10.9 but it's only holding a cam sprocket on! Torqued to it's value with an accurate torque wrench it shouldn't come off

Cheers.. I was just checking. my torque wrenches are good, so no worries.

Crossing my fingers it fires up with no problems. I think the biggest problem I will have is re fitting the exhaust as the 2 screws on both sides that hold the down pipes to the collector box have been sheared off and the remains are very, very rusty. I gave them a good dose of Plus Gas last night and will do the same tonight.. I hope the mole grips will shift them!
