Hi have just bought 1100GS. Sump guard was rattling, so took it off. Two rearmost bolts have nothing to bolt into. Rubber mountings at front OK but two at rear detatched from rubber. Looks like they've come apart. How do I get old rubber mountings (3 on diagram) out to fit new ones?

Also, I have "Interior engine protection part" (2 on diagram) and spacer (4) missing. Can anyone help please?

Go here http://www.xmission.com/~wendell/R1100GS/engine1.html to see exploded diagram.

Unless you're off-roading, why not just leave it off? It's a major pain in the arse to refit after oil changes in any case.

crash plate

These do this if theyv'e had a wack (crash bars), use a pair og grips i did mine with a pair of minature steelsons. Look on the bobs bmw site these are usa dealers with a parts microfish all parts are listed with correct part nos. . Crash plates are known as "underride protection".
Good luck dave gs.

3 choices

leave it off - mines been off for a while now

unscrew the remains as above and use longer m6 bolts and a mexican spacer ( 10 washers :) )

buy some new bits

Thanks for the advice guys - think I'll get the old bits out and leave it off.
