any one know which wheels are a straight swop onto a r1100gs with abs ,my plan is to get a set of alloys for winter ,ive read the threads abit and am i right to assume that the r1100rt is the same , i would ideally like the 3 spoke alloys, please enlighten me,i know its been covered before but its not clear to me ,

If as your profile says your bike is an anniversary model - it should have the anodised wheels.. which are pretty much impervious to the weather and muck/salt.. I have these and they clean up a treat.. regardless of how mucky they get... still look fantastic after 10 years living outside and being ridden all year.

I did consider alloys for about 5 minutes.... The only real advantage i could see was the greater choice of road tyres.

There are plenty of (road) tyre choices for the 19"/17" combo now. I put alloys on my last 1150 but after the novelty wore off I realised that the handling was more natural with the original wheels/tyres. The 120 front/170 rear combo affects the way the bike turns quite noticeably. I switched back, first using BT020s on the original wheels but when they wore out I went back to Tourances. Original is best :thumb

:Motomartinthanks for the banter gents,il be keepin my tkc80 s now it makes sense,do more sideways action and burnouts,
