I've got the opportunity to buy one in very good condition. About 30,000 miles. 2002 model for about £4000.

Looking around, everyone is asking £5500-£8000 for them. But there are LOADS for sale and none of them are moving.

Looking at Ebay past auctions, I see they only seem to get bids of £4000-£4200,

Not as collectable as they once were ?

I know they're nothing special. Slow and soggy for a sportsbike even twenty years ago. But it's a fine looking machine and it could go either way in value over the next decade.

30k miles isn’t going to interest a collector.

Perhaps not to a collector willing to pay £8000-£10,000 for an almost box fresh model. Is mileage really THAT important when talking about twenty year old bikes ? 30k isn't exactly high for any boxer. It's far below average in-fact.

But you make a fair point..

For that mileage and condition, I'd say the £4k price was about right, it's what I'd probably pay anyway.

If you haven't already I would question whether it is a genuine factory BCR or a lookalike made so during its life.

Had the opportunity to buy one with just under 7000 miles. Full service, with every option in the book, luggage and extra carbon bits and spare bits. Owned by a race team owner. The lot for £6000. I recon it was a good deal. Decided to go for an new RS.
