I want to remove the lock for a clean up on my OEM System topbox. I cant see any little hole to poke a wire in and relase the lock mechanism, so assume I need to strip things down from inside the box. Before I go ahead, has anyone got any tips for doing this please (i.e. is anything going to spring apart apart and disappear for ever?).
many thanks :).

If it's like the panniers, you have to unlock the lock fully so the handles are out of the way and they will reveal the little hole into which you can poke a v.small screwdriver or similar to depress the bottom tab of the lock that holds it in place. Push with the screwdriver and pull the key, should come out quite easily, don't force it.

Many thanks for the reply.
I have actually done the job today, and it is easier to do than the pannier lock removal. :)
Inside the top box, remove x3 screws that are directly behind the lock.
Now, I had the lock in the unlock position with the top box handle fully up, but I dont know if this matters and dont care as it worked for me.
Carefully pull the lock complete with it plastic surround away from the top box.
The locking arm/cam can be seen arrowed below. Its only held in place by grease and just lifts off.

Next pic shows the little sprung retaining clip. Your key needs to be in the lock at this point as well. Depress the clip and pull the lock out.

All very simple. The only point to watch is with the lock and its holder removed the handle can come out easily from the top box and behind this is a little sprung clip that could drop out.
