Well all I can say is so far, so good. Nice to be able to relax more when riding, although my ZZR 1400 is quite comfortable compared to most, the best bit is the improvement to rearward vision when checking before an overtake. Yes I'm over 50 and the old bod is not getting any suppler but on the GS I am having a ball.

1999 R1150GS with full BMW pannier/topbox setup, otherwise totally standard.

Looking forwards to a good run up to Ripley at the weekend and maybe even a first bit of green lane action. To anyone thinking of a GS as a replacement for a sportsbike, or maybe like me as an addition to the fleet, all I can say is don't hesitate, do the usual checks and try one first, but then enjoy it!

Of course the flexible friend has gone AWOL what with all that new bling available, but we'll sort that out soon.

Have fun if you're a newbie like me, be safe and enjoy it!

Thoughts on additions so far:

Handguards for summer.
Muffs for bad winter weather.( probably needed now!!)
Heat for hands as no OE fitment. Gloves, heated grips or other.
New windscreen to cut buffeting.
Baglux tank cover as paint is mint.
Mirror extensions or similar.
Winglets.
Sargeant seat.

Much later.....ally panniers/Ohlins/Sat nav.

Will be wandering around looking over all the blinged up bikes at the weekend to get some ideas to add to the list.
