A bit of a follow-on from Mick248's thread on exhausts.
This is the set-up on my newly acquired, and first GS .. no cat, Y pipe and a Remus silencer
There's a strong smell of unburned petrol at the joint between the Y pipe and silencer (at the end of the red arrow).
Could it just be badly sealed, or is this common when the cat is removed?
My intention is to put the original silencer back on without the cat.
Any thoughts/advice is most appreciated.
