I heard that the 3 indicator switches, (left, right and cancel), can be removed by means of a tiny allen screw on each. I am talking about the actual thumb actuated plastic part of the switches on external of each switch pod as opposed to the internal switch mechanism inside the pods.

Please can someone confirm this as I don't currently have a GS to check this out on. Thanks! :thumb

If you open up the plastic you will find a 'security sticker' (silver I think) that can be peeled away and there is a tiny allen screw underneath it - undo this and you can get access to everything inside the switchgear. The orange indicator switches are attached to the main plastic body by two 'arms' and these can simply be prised apart and the switches removed.

I recently replaced a dirty and slightly ferked right indicator doobery with a nice new one that I had - it came from a right switch gear (second hand) that I bought in order to replace a lost starter button from my old R1100S. I can be done, despite the fact that BMW say that it can't!

CHeers,

Nick
