R1150gs makes "ruttling nose" for a second after starting to move

My bike makes some "ruttling nose" ( like bolts in a metal bucket ) for a short moment when i am starting my ride. It doesn't do it when i engage 1st gear and move from traffic lights. Just fist time after 1st gear engagement and STARTING MOVING when i START my ride. Sound comes from transmittion and fills like shaftdrive and gearbox gears were disengaged and now engaged

Character or else?

It is the ABS system check. Perfectly normal. It'll also do a re-test (make the same noise again) if you've been on the go for a while, then stop and pull away again.

I had similar concerns on pulling away or going over bumps, turned out to be my under saddle tools rattling around.

sounds like 'pinking' or pre-ignition.

check the carb balance..

Can't say mine's ever done it on selection of 1st... ABS or otherwise... the tools do rattle though over bumps...
