Good work Rolf, you had a good ride.

I finished 8th also on an 1150 GS.

It was good to meet you.

Cheers
Dean.

Blimey.....er....well done I think.....but.....WHY?....:nenau

Nice one Rolf :clap How many tins of Red Bull did you drink during the ride?
As a 1200GS rider I am curious, were there many 1200s entered for the event?

:bounce1 Many thanks for your kind comments! The piles were fine thank you, no problems apart from some pain to my damaged coccyx which even the air hawk and sheepskin didn't entirely alleviate. As to why do it - for the challenge and for a damn good reason to ride the bike for a weekend, for me there doesn't need to be any other reason (oh, yes the fame and glory I suppose...) :mmmm

Of the 47 starters ( 3 didn't make it tothe start), 29 finished with the minimum mileage and points score. I reckon about 20 of the bikes were BMs, with two 1150GSs and about 4 or 5 1200GSs - a German guy who had done the Iron Butt Rally in America came 4th on a 1200GS. Guess they're built more for speed than endurance! :thumb

there was an 1100GS in it too
why didnt you come over and say hello...............
