R1150RT online community

i went ahead and bought a 2003 R1150RT (twin spark) for work - am going to keep the 1200GS as a toy......

i was wondering if anybody knows an online site similar to ukgser.com dedicated r1150rt's?



i see nippynormans do a load of extras for the 1150rt ......i'm so weak (i've not even picked up the bike yet!!!)

Hi Steve,

There is a very quiet site called www.bmrider.com and a much more active American site called www.bmwsporttouring.com with quite of few of us contributing.
Nothing compares with the rufty, tufty community here though. Someone pointing out the existence of this site to a "newby" mentioned high levels of testosterone (female company excepted). Can this be true?

Hi Steve, in terms of extras on my old 1100RT, I added a Givi top box because the BMW box, whist blending in with looks of the bike was useless for carrying anything. I added a headlight guard (after putting a hole through the glass lens!) and some PIAA lights.
Make sure the battery is in good condition because the terminals are an absolute sod to get at. I installed a Wunderlich jump start kit, which got used twice in 4 years.
