I'm putting a set of GS alloys on my adventure as I prefer alloys and have seen a few examples on here I really like. I'm getting them powder coated and will swap them out over the winter. So my questions are....

1: What's the general consensus on tyres, I never go off road and do a lot of touring and riding round the twisty roads of Wales. What's best for a bike of this size ?
2: I have tyre pressure sensors on the bike and a set that came with the new wheels. Will the bike pick them up or do I need a Dealer to configure them. If I do can I ride the bike down to the dealer?

Cheers in advance.

Can't help with Q 2...

But on Q 1 - I still like Tourances as a good all round tyre: long lasting, capable on the road and will help when you hit that inevitable patch of gravel on those back roads :thumb2

You will need to get the new sensors setup on the bike by a dealer. It can also be done with a gs911

Alternatively swap your existing ones onto the new wheels.

Tyres tyres tyres, you will never get the same answer twice ;-) for my money if I wanted something for pure Road I would go with conti sport attacks. If you had went for road bike wheels wider and 17" front you could have went for something really sticky.

Marki has covered your first Q; second Q.....I'm going to fit a pair of Conti Road Attack 2 Evo's and give them a try as I'll only be road riding on my GS (unlike Mav who spanks his in the dirt :green gri).

Have always had Conti's on the GS and they've never let me down......

Don`t forget to make a note of the RDC code numbers. They are the 6 to 8 digit numbers found on a sticker on the RDC sender. ( not the long barcode number).
If you have access to a GS911 it makes it a lot easier if you have the codes. Also you can log 2 sets of wheels with the GS911.

I don't so thanks for the tip.

Pilot road 4's for me, best tyre I have ever used, but that's just my opinion of course
