Do BMW do some rubber inserts for the front footpegs on a GS Adventure? For on road use would be good for comfort and my boots might last longer.

Have some on a KTM 990, but can't seem to find any for the GS?

yes they do, I have them on mine, they are ones that go with the 800,
I have the part numbers for these at work somewhere, I'll post tomorrow.
They cost ..I think about £18 or £22 for the pair

I believe the part no for the inserts is; 4671 76967 4800

I was going to get some, decided to fit the fastway pegs off my old bike instead :thumb2

the rubber foot pegs for the G650 Country fit the GSA

Pt. No. C46.71.7.696.748 rubbers
Pt. No. C46.71.7.696.948 counterhold
Pt.No. C07.11.9.902.745 nuts

Thanks for the replies, getting on to BMW to order some.

They fix on with two bolts which are retained in the rubber moulding. You can pay BMW a lot of cash for the relevant bits (which are not included in the footrest pack, or you can use a bit of ally with two holes drilled in it and a couple of Nyloc nuts. Or if you're really cheap you could probably just ziptie the two bolts together after you've fitted the rubbers.

Comfort? In what way are these rubber johnnies going to improve comfort?

You want comfort? Get in a car... :comfort

I think you'll find they wont make any difference to boot wear either..

:blast

I think you should try before you comment, they will reduce boot wear, I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs and the teeth dig in, hence holes in boots after 2 years use. you stick to your car, I cover 25k a year ta.

Thats what the sole is for, and can handle it. Boots wear in other areas much more than the sole... Still doesnt explain the comfort you claim though ! Hmmm...

I think I'll pass on trying these rubber johnny thingies; thx for the offer !

Aye, brand new so they are.:pullface
No sign of any wear or marks from footpegs that resemble beartraps.

Point well demonstrated. Off road, muddy boots, need grip. On road, rubber inserts reduce boot wear, reduce vibration, case proven. I wonder why just about every motorcycle for road use has rubber on the footpegs??? hmmmm. Maybe they are all wrong.

Exactly right.

The spiked pegs on my GSA were wrecking the soles of my brand new Sidi's.:blast I now have the rubber inserts fitted...jobs a good un.:thumb

Thanks for this thread my new boots were getting shredded by the metal foot pegs too, I'll be ordering the rubber inserts tomorrow!

I have a deep groove in the sole of my left boot from gearchanging with fastway pegs on my previous 1200, hence peg rubbers now fitted on my new GSA.

If its gonna get so muddy that I need to remove my peg rubbers, I'll leave the GSA at home and take the Thumper instead.
