r1200gs givi rack

Hi , just bought a 2010 model r1200gs , I'm wanting a givi rack for my topbox. I'm interested in the givi SR689 , but this suits monokey boxes whereas I have a monolock box.Does anyone know if a givi M5M plate will fit onto the SR689 rack to enable me to use my monolock top box.

Fixings

I have an E52 monokey on my bike (same model etc). I went onto Givi's site and looked up the mounting plate there. It is very much the same plate used in a normal mount without the arms. The fixing however is very 'Heath/Robinson' as the brackets provided didn't see to fit very well between the bars on the rear rack. Still it's been on for 10 months and hasn't fallen off; although the rubber bungs on the base of the plate did a moonlight flit ages ago.

Once you have the Givi ID for the plate; google the price.

I had no problems fitting the SR689 ,its a strong bit of kit and looks good on the bike.

+1 excellent rack. Got mine for my V46 top box and had side bars for my E41 panniers (now for sale), now with Vario panniers, works well.

Hi Holmes

Just to let you know that the M5M Monolock rack fits the SR689 perfectly, I've just fitted one to mine for my Simply case.

Incidently I've ended up with 2 SR689 rack kits (Monokey plate) so I have a brand new, unopened one if you are interested - £70 inlc P&P ( to uk), before I put it on the For Sale board.

E250 for GS Adventure?

Hi,

Similar to the above posts, I wish to use a Givi V46 top box I have in place of the Aluminium OEM top box.

Givi offer a universal E250 plate for their Monokey top boxes.

Q Has anyone fitted an E250 mounting plate to their R1200 GS Adventure?

is it a good fit, does it work etc
