R1200GS Plug-in socket installation instructions

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the installation instruction booklet provided with the Retrofit Kit for the accessory socket on a R1200GS. Instead of selling me the complete kit, my dealer sold me the separate parts (socket and harness).

The BMW part number is 01297685629 for the booklet.

I tried to install it with information found here on this forum and other places on the net but it seems that I am missing a part because the connector on the motorcycle is different from what the harness provides.

I'm only around for another half hour, but basically the kit should consist of the socket, the loom with three connectors on it, a template for drilling the plastic shroud and some cable ties, you need to remove the tank and seat, the new loom is to be routed up the LHS alongside the main loom, the double plug end of the loom fits to the back of the old socket, to fix you need to remove the existing plug from the back of the original socket, the end of the new loom then plugs into the old loom and the second plug, plugs into the existing accessory socket, sort of a "piggy back" affair.

The rest is obvious, just make sure you disconect the battery before you start work
