R1200GSA Ride Height

Just wondered , rather than fit a lower seat to a 1200GSA to make it more manageable has anybody tried / considered fitting a standard 1200GS rear shock to a 1200GSA to lower the height ?. If so , did it / will it work ?. Would the front need lowering by a similar amount ?

I believe it can be done cos i was offered the suspension out of a standard bike when i purchased mine, but to be honest I think the low seat is a cheaper option and far more comfortable as IMHO the ADV seat is shite and teh pillion even worse according to SWMBO
