R1200RT TC 2011 with the ESAII. The handbook states that the display with the 'helmet, helmet + bag ' etc should flash when the suspension preload is adjusted (engine running).
Mine doesn't flash, but when sitting on the bike doing this, the adjustment can be felt as the ride height changes.
Has the handbook not been updated from ESA I or could there be an issue with mine?
Could anyone confirm what the display does on their twin cam please?

Mine flashes (2011 GSA TC). As you obviously know, it has to be stationary and engine on. If you can feel the adjustment, it would seem to be working so don't know why your's doesn't flash but wouldn't think it was a problem.

Thanks Paul. Hmm, not sure why mine does not flash, but when changing the settings I can feel the ride height going up or down, so it must be working. Maybe there has been a software change recently (got the bike in April from BMW) ?
Currently the bike is under warranty and I'm sure a replacement shock will not be cheap, so will get it checked out at BMW before it expires.

Further investigation shows that the handbook for the R1200RT changed to the 3rd edition in August 2011. The 'flashing' when the preload is changing is no longer mentioned, so I assume a software upgrade around this time came into effect. Looks like mine is working correctly after all :)

It shouldn't flash, you have a good 'un :thumb. As long as you can feel the suspension moving when adjusting the load side (helmet/helmet bag/ 2 helmet on the display).
I have just used my gs911 which confirms the preload is working.
If you set it first to 'Sport' then go between 'one helmet straight to 2 helmets' with the engine running and sat astride taking the wait on your feet you will feel it move.
